On January 5th, Philippine President Ferdinand Romulus Marcos, who was on a state visit to Beijing, attended the China Philippines "Renewable Energy Industry Roundtable Conference" and received representatives of outstanding Chinese new energy industry enterprises. The roundtable conference mainly focused on exchanges and discussions on renewable energy, agriculture, nickel processing, batteries, and electric vehicle manufacturing. As one of the invited representatives of new energy commercial vehicle manufacturers for this event, Li Longde, Chairman of Jiangsu Fengquan, and his delegation were invited to attend and deliver an important speech.
Li Longde, Chairman of Jiangsu Fengquan, said in his speech that Jiangsu Fengquan is a Sino Korean joint venture enterprise specializing in the design, development, and production of new energy commercial vehicles and supporting products. The R&D headquarters is located in South Korea, and the core technical team consists of industry experts from companies such as Hyundai and Kia who have worked for more than 20 years. The company and shareholder Ganfeng Lithium jointly possess the core resources and technological capabilities of the entire industry chain, including lithium mines, lithium materials, lithium batteries, and complete vehicles. At present, Fengquan has established subsidiaries in Czech Republic, South Korea, Canada, Singapore and other countries, and its products have been sold to 18 countries including the European Union and Canada.
Jiangsu Fengquan plans to invest in the construction of a new energy commercial vehicle project with an annual output of 50000 units, 10000 charging piles, and 100 battery swapping stations in order to industrialize and localize electric jeepneys in the Philippines. The project aims to cultivate local industrial and technical talents in the Philippines, and is expected to bring about 8000 job opportunities for the country.
Jiangsu Fengquan began conducting market research in the Philippines two years ago. In May of last year, they negotiated with local government agencies for project implementation and with local cities for the demonstration and promotion of electric jeepneys, providing green public transportation for the Philippines and achieving the goal of low-carbon emissions in cities.
The opportunities for cooperation in the field of new energy between China and the Philippines mainly lie in investments in the new energy vehicle and power battery industry chains. China has a complete new energy vehicle and power battery industry chain, while the Philippines has abundant raw material minerals such as nickel, copper, and cobalt. The Philippines has also launched incentive plans for electric vehicles and the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act. China and the Philippines can deepen cooperation in mineral development, battery material processing, battery manufacturing, and new energy vehicle assembly to jointly promote the development of the new energy vehicle industry in the Philippines and globally. As one of the invited new energy main enterprises, Jiangsu Fengquan will play a pivotal role in promoting the development of the Philippines' new energy industry chain and continue to contribute to the global carbon neutrality development process.
