On September 9, 2024, the handover ceremony of 6 electric buses (with a total value of 300,000 US dollars) donated by Laos Asia Economic Development Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu e-future New Energy Power Technology Co., Ltd. to the Lao government was held in the Lao Prime Minister's Office.
Ma Ruihao, the executive vice president of the China Asia Economic Development Association and the chairman of the Laos Asia Economic Development Investment Group Co., Ltd., and Songchong Pasit, the vice minister and deputy director of the Office of the Lao Prime Minister, attended the ceremony. Gongtong Pengpiji, the executive deputy minister of public security, relevant departments of the Lao Prime Minister's Office, relevant staff from Vientiane municipal government and other relevant departments participated in the ceremony.
Mr. Ma Ruihao said that China and Laos are connected by mountains and rivers, and the traditional friendship between the two countries has a long history. To do something beneficial for the country and people of Laos, after the relevant departments in Laos have a good trial, he intends to build several electric vehicle assembly factories in Laos. The advantages of using electric vehicles are as follows: reducing oil imports, saving foreign exchange, being friendly to the environment, converting the energy advantages of Laos into funds, and after meeting the domestic demand, they can be exported to increase the country's foreign exchange.
Mr. Sounchong Pasy said that the Lao government supports and welcomes investors to invest in projects that comply with the Investment Promotion Law and the Industrial Park Decree. In particular, Chinese investors are welcome. China and Laos are a community with a shared future. They are countries with “four goods”. It is hoped that Chinese friends will continue to invest in Laos and help develop the social and economic of Laos.
